Hidden Content will it be indexed by Google?

A question is often asked about this popular “expand hidden content” button.  Now a common feature in many blogs and site builders. Content your expand can make your site look nice and tidy. So the question will Google index the content? The answer is not good I am afraid. Like many of Google’s answers to questions about its indexing its a big fat “MAYBE”.  So this type of content is on Googles radar. Therefore official sources they don’t like it.

Google are constantly changing the way in which their indexing and search algorithm work. Google brought this change in around 2015. It was brought in as the Google engine wants to view the page the way a user views it. Content that can not be viewed without expanding  could be sneaky.

It’s best to avoid “expand content” buttons as best practice for your SEO. As  you want all your page content to be indexed by Google.
